A new UNESCO survey shows that most domestic helpers in China complain of too much work for too little pay.

UNESCO worked with a local research center to question domestic workers in Beijing, Hefei, and Shanghai.

The domestic helpers work as maids for more affluent Chinese in major cities.

Half of the workers say they work at least ten hours each day and do not receive insurance to cover their health. 85% of the domestic helpers are women.

Over 60% of the respondents say that they earned RMB6000 to RMB8400 per year in wages.
