International Consumer's Day: New Chinese Fund To Benefit Shoppers
March 15 is International Consumer's Day, and today a new fund opens in Beijing that seeks to award businesses that transparently and honestly operate.
The General Chamber of Commerce (GCC) of Beijing's Chaoyang District and the Consumer Rights Protection Association have together worked to launch the fund, with the Chaoyang District local government donating the first RMB100,000.
Chaoyang District is home to many international and large domestic businesses in Beijing. The area is considered the downtown and central business district of China's capital city.
The fund will maintain a database of consumers' complaints, businesses' credit ratings, and banking details. The fund will then periodically award companies for sound business practices.
