China Consumers' Association has confirmed that the "3-15″ certification has been stopped, and enterprises that had been certified will stop using the "3-15″ sign after the expiration of their respective agreements.
The cancellation of the "3-15″ certification results from the Order Floor debacle in which CCA was accused of misusing "3-15″ certification. On this year's Consumer Day (March 15), Chinese media reported that Order Wooden Floor Company had been cheating consumers by calling itself a famous European brand. Ironically, there was also a sign of "3-15″ on this floor product which shows that the product had been accredited by CCA.
Following the exposure of the Order Floor scandal, consumers began to doubt the role that CCA played in protecting their interests, criticizing it for misguiding them.
CCA's "3-15″ came into existence on March 15, 2000. Use of the symbol was supposed to direct people to consumer-friendly products.
