A representative from China Mobile says that the company is tightening control of unsolicited wireless short messages.
The company will set up a national unsolicited short message reporting center and work with the public security departments at provincial levels to launch a special hotline for users to report junk messages.
At present, all provincial subsidiaries of China Mobile have already opened reporting platforms to deal with junk messages.
China Mobile has also closed wireless services from companies like Sohu, KongZhong, Linktone, and Sina because those companies failed to follow guidelines meant to assist consumers in unsubscribing and subscribing to wireless services.
