Managers from 52 star-grade hotels in Shangdong Province have signed a "Green Commitment" to jointly create green hotels and promote eco-friendly consumption.

The China National Tourism Administration issued the standard for "Green Travel Hotels" at the beginning of this year to promote the concept of "green hotels" across China.

A representative from China Travel & Hotel Association, which is one organizer of the activity, says that green hotels will feature environmentally friendly services and green consumption based on the concept of sustainable development.

These Shandong representatives will also travel up to 5000 kilometers touring 24 cities, including Tianjin, Shenyang, Dalian, Qingdao and Guangdong, where the hospitality industry is booming, to promote the activity.
