Shanghai Tida Medical Beauty Hospital is offering free plastic surgery services to people who have been disfigured as a result of helping others in times of emergency.
Qian Ying, who has been honored as a model citizen for helping others in the city, has become the first person to enjoy the service provided at the center. Qian Ying's left eye was injured by a knife when she last year tried to save the life of a stranger.
Yang Changchun, a representative from the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Department, says that providing free reconstructive surgery services will help local heros recover from the physical scars of their brave deeds. It will also encourage more citizens to help other people in need.
