Shangri-La's China World Hotel, Beijing says it raised more than RMB75,000 from its recent annual fundraising event, the Christmas Tree of Hope, and from part of the proceeds of its sales of Christmas hampers and Christmas goodies.

The charity fundraising program was in support of Care for Children.

For the Christmas Tree of Hope program, the hotel's guests, clients and employees were invited to sponsor a Star of Hope for the hotel's giant Christmas tree to be displayed in the Lobby. For a donation of RMB200 upwards to RMB 1,999, an individual or company could sponsor a Star and their names or company logos displayed on the Tree of Hope.

For donations of RMB2,000 and more, individuals or companies could sponsor a Superstar, reserved for the top of the hotel's Christmas Tree of Hope, with the individual's name or company logo printed on the Superstar.

In addition to the Tree of Hope, Shangri-La's China World Hotel also donated part of the proceeds from its annual sale of Christmas hampers and gourmet Christmas goodies to Care for Children.
