Audio Netcast: Interview With Global Public Relations Guru Richard Edelman
Companies approach corporate social responsibility in many ways in China, with public relations firms often either focusing on strategic aspects or on placating the public and media after problems occur.
Richard Edelman is president and CEO of Edelman, the world's third largest public relations agency. In this audio netcast, Richard talks about how Edelman offers advisory work to help execute corporate social responsibility initiatives in China for its clients. He says relationships with NGOs and the connection between civil society is stronger outside of China, but things are changing in the Middle Kingdom. Richard says the Olympics have accelerated environmental changes, and his own company has a number of programs that also give back to society.

But isn't it a PR company's job to lie? If they are lying all the time, how are they being socially responsible? They are saying tobacco doesn't kill! I don't believe these companies and spin.
