Shenzhen Organ Donation Network Information Platform will soon be initiated online to publish information about all the organs available and patients waiting for organ transplants.
Involving a total investment of more than RMB1.3 million, the platform, which is built by Shenzhen Municipal Government, provides organ supply and demand information and matches organ donors and receivers.
The platform is currently linked to the network of hospitals in Shenzhen. The order of patients to receive organ transplant is fixed by Shenzhen Red Cross according to the time of their application and the order is published on the platform to maintain transparency with the public. It is expected that the platform will soon be connected with other medical institutions around China.
