The China Europe International Business School is currently planning its third "Being Globally Responsible Conference", to be held June 6-8, 2008.

The conference is initiated by CEIBS MBA students and promotes corporate social responsibility to the future global business leaders. According to the school, BGRC is the biggest event managed by business school students in the Asia-Pacific region.

The theme of this year's conference is "New Horizon, Better World". The three-day meeting will feature expert speeches, group workshops, movies and network opportunities. What's more, on the third day CEIBS students will host a final round of INNOVATEChina Global Innovation Challenge, where finalist MBA students from the world's top business schools will compete for the Grand Prize by providing innovative solutions for the corporate sponsors focusing on CSR issues in China.

BGRC's highlighted topics include environmental protection, sustainable development, corporate governance, sustainable energy usage, poverty reduction and social entrepreneurship. BGRC will engage well-known speakers from different spheres, such as non-governmental organizations, university faculty and subject matter experts, who will share their experience and challenges related to sustainability and social responsibility.

Among the keynote guest-speakers, the event will host some of the world's most respected socially-responsible leaders: Frederick Dubee, senior advisor to the United Nations Global Compact, and Nancy Barry, president of Nancy Barry Associates and former president of Women's World Banking. Corporations like Envonik Degussa, Atlas Copco, Gamesa and Bayer China have signed on as sponsors for the event.

BGRC targets MBA students mostly from the Asia-Pacific region. The estimated number of event participants is close to 300 from about 50 business schools from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Thailand, India, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Australia, Spain, Denmark and the United States.
