According to the website of Beijing Municipal Health Bureau, universities in the Chinese capital will organize volunteer blood donation teams by the end of June to provide emergency assistance for the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games.
BMHB held a mobilization meeting earlier this year during which it introduced the city's blood donation work in 2007 as well as the procedures for the blood preparations for the Olympic Games to be held in August 2008.
At that meeting, BMHB also put forward some detailed requirements for the 96 institutions of higher learning in the capital regarding the blood donations, asking them to form an emergency blood donation team consisting of 500 people before the end of June this year.
