The 2008 IHG Beijing and Project Hope Charity Golf Competition is planning to take place on May 23 at Tianzhu Golf Club in China's capital city.
Over the last two years, all the IHG hotels in Beijing have been working closely with the China Youth Development Foundation to support the government education program from student's education funding, to teacher's training and construction of education facilities.
"We are excited to be involved in the program that is dear to all of us and the event would not be complete without the support of our sponsors such as Hanhai company, among many others" said Roland Steiner, regional general manager of IHG Beijing.
China Youth Development Foundation is a foundation that enlists extensive support from home and abroad to assist dropout students and those of risk of dropping out to continue schooling in China's rural and underprivileged areas. In addition to funding students and building schools, this organization has also sought to improve the education conditions in these rural areas, including teacher training and strengthening the government's efforts in implementing a nine-year compulsory education law.
