This is the first time that the two companies have joined hands in launching "Flight of Hope" to deliver supplies provided by American charities to China's earthquake area. Nearly three tons of medical supplies were carried to China on a new Boeing 737-800 airplane that Shenzhen Airlines just received.
Boeing donated RMB1.75 million to China through the American Red Cross Society the day after May 12 earthquake. So far, it has made a total donation of RMB5.25 million. The company has also pledged to match contributions made by its employees and retirees through June 12, 2008.
