China's Environmentally-friendly Project List Unveiled

The Second National Environmentally-friendly Project Awards Assembly and the Thirteenth Green China Forum were held recently in Beijing's Great Hall of People where ten projects were each named an official National Environmentally-Friendly Project.
The National Environmentally-Friendly Project designation was established in August 2005, and is the top award in construction programs' environmental protection in China. Altogether 94 projects are nominated from 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, and ten of them are finally confirmed by the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
The ten projects are: Qinghai-Tibet Railway Golmud to Lhasa Project by Qinghai-Tibet Railway Company; Ultra-supercritical generating units project by Huaneng Power International Inc. Zhanjiang Branch; Three Gorges-Shanghai 500-kilovolt direct current transmission project by State Grid; Shandong Xiangguang Copper Co., Ltd's copper cathode project; The Yellow River Gongbo Gorge Hydropower Station by Upper Yellow River Hydropower Development Co., Ltd; Ningbo Wanhua Polyurethane Co., Ltd's MDI project; Jiaochangkou-Xinshancun express metro project by Chongqing Metro Company; PetroChina Tarim Oilfield Branch's Tarim Desert highway shelterbelt project; Changde-Zhangjiajie Freeway project by Hunan Changjiang Highway Construction & Development Co., Ltd; and Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., Ltd.'s fixed investment of 120,000 passenger cars.
