Greenland Group has issued its first corporate social responsibility report at a press conference.
The report has elaborated on the development of the group's CSR strategy and practices, and has also drawn out plans for fulfilling social responsibilities in the future. Through 16 years' development, Greenland has now set up a systematic and mature responsibility view concerning economic performances, environmental protection and social ethics.
Greenland says it has started up a batch of Green Plans aimed at energy conservation and environmental protection. It is expected that these plans will reduce carbon dioxide emission by 32,600 tons, save electricity of 110 million kWh, and save water of 9.65 million tons.
The group has also done well in the social charities sector. It has set up more than ten special funds for the elderly, the disabled, SARS-affected areas, and students; it has donated money for several Hope Primary Schools; it has contributed more than CNY17 million to the quake area affected by the recent Wenchuan earthquake.
As a leading company in real estate in China, Greenland Group says that it will continue to advocate and practice CSR; further optimize and adjust economic development model to accelerate the sustainable development of both the group and the society; put more efforts on the application and promotion of green products and technologies; and participate in public welfare undertakings to build a harmonious society.
