In social responsibilities, Sichuan Mobile has been committed to providing communications infrastructure for villages since 2004; and by the end of 2007, the Company has invested CNY3.948 billion for communications infrastructure in 9,232 administrative villages. In addition, CNY150 million were invested for 50,409 information terminals in rural areas providing agricultural information. Following the blizzard disaster in early 2008 and the May 12 earthquake, the company organized communication repair teams to mitigate the disasters and received praise from the State Council.

For environmental protection, the company has launched a green initiative plan focusing on energy conservation and emission reduction, which is expected to result in a decrease of 8% in power consumption for each of its business units in 2008. It also launched a green box environmental program for the recycling of cellphones in its 130 business halls and communications markets. As of June 2008, 22,733 cellphones and accessories had been received under this scheme.
