The new Wal-Mart environmental outlet located in Wangjing opened recently in Beijing — this is also the company's first environmentally friendly outlet in China.
The LED lights are first widely used in general lighting, freezer lighting and food display counters lighting, and electrodeless lights are used in some parts of the store. Compared to ordinary outlets, these will save 23% of the annual electricity consumption.
The LED light is a new green and environmental light source with characteristics of low energy consumption, long life cycle, and is mercury free. It can not only reduce business operating costs, but reduce impact on the natural environment.
Liang Jingsi, senior director of engineering of the development department at Wal-Mart, stated that the business model of Wal-Mart has gradually changed from commitments to sustainable development to practical actions, and it has made environmental protection the responsibility and strategy for Wal-Mart.
