The 2008 Conference of Governors of Chinese Joint-stock Commercial Banks was recently held in Nanning of Guangxi Province.
The principals of 13 joint-stock commercial banks attended the conference, at which this year's topic was the social responsibility of China's joint-stock commercial banks.
The 13 members take turns to sponsor the governor's conference which is held annually.
At the conference, the banks jointly published a Declaration on the Social Responsibility of National Joint-stock Commercial Banks, promising that they will adhere to scientific development, achieve the interests of stakeholders, protect resources and the environment, and promote the sustainable development of the economy, society and the environment.
The 13 banks are: Bank of Communications, CITIC Bank, China Merchants Bank, Shenzhen Development Bank, Guangdong Development Bank, Industrial Bank, China Everbright Bank, Huaxia Bank, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, China Minsheng Banking Corp., Evergrowing Bank, China Zheshang Bank, and China Bohai Bank.
