China Minmetals Corporation Publishes Sustainability Report
China Minmetals Corporation has published its first sustainability report in Beijing.
In 2007, the China Minmetals Corporation achieved a total business volume of USD21.8 billion with a profit of CNY7.1 billion. Minmetals was ranked No. 435 among the Fortune 500 companies for the first time in 2007, and was ranked Class A and awarded the title of "Outstanding Company" when the SASAC evaluated the performance of state-owned enterprises under the jurisdiction of the central government.
China Minmetals Corporation has been applying itself to the protective development of limited resources, and has put CNY300 million into updating equipment and environmental protection.
At the press conference, the secretary general of the Chinese Red Cross Society awarded the Red Cross Outstanding Contribution medal to the company.
China Minmetals Corporation, founded in 1950, is a large-scale group dealing worldwide in the development, production, and trading of metals and minerals. It is also engaged in finance, real estate and logistics.
