Shandong Unveils Health Related Products Inspection Results

The Shandong Health Department has unveiled the results of their inspection of health related products for the second half of 2008.
In food inspection, 65 of 68 cooked meat products were up to standard. One variety of Shuanghui smoked ham, Fuyuancheng brand Boshan beef jerky, and Laobocheng brand beef jerky were substandard due to the total number of coliform bacteria being above the normal level. Of the 138 brands of bottled water, 122 were up to standard. Baotuquan natural mineral drinking water, Angel purified drinking water, and Qilu Spring purified drinking water were found to be substandard.
Two types of gynecological lotions, Chenxin and Fuke, were found without product licensing documents in the inspection of mucocutaneous disinfectants and anti-bacterial agents.
All the inspected flour products, edible vegetable oil, and aquatic food products were up to standard. Of the 742 guest amenity cosmetics in 449 hotels, the pass rate of the label inspection was 98.5%; and all the 616 products passed the microbiological test.
