CSR Standard Being Tested In Yiwu

The Federation of Trade Unions of Yiwu in Zhejiang Province is making preparations for the trial implementation of a corporate social responsibility standard.
Drafted by FTUYC in cooperation with such departments as Yiwu Department for Industry and Commerce, Yiwu Taxation Department, Yiwu Environment Protection Department, Yiwu Labor and Social Insurance Department, and Yiwu Health Department, the Corporate Social Responsibility Yiwu Standard aims to integrate corporate social responsibility into a general management standard, promote a transformation of CSR from self regulation to social regulation, create harmonious, stable and win-win labor relations, and encourage the sustainable development of Yiwu.
Under the CSRYS, thirteen benchmarking categories have been worked out to assess companies' performance in labor relations, social relations, environmental protection, product quality, and credit construction. And companies will be rated in five classes of A, B, C, D and E by a third party certifying organization in combination with public comments once every two years.
Currently, CSRYS is being tested in they Beiyuan Industrial Park, Yiwu.
