News from the website of the Chinese Ministry of Health is that five Chinese ministries, including the Ministry of Health, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, and the State Food and Drug Administration, are auditing the implementation of the expanded national planned immunization service during December 2008 and January 2009.
The audit is mainly by self-inspection. The five ministries will conduct random spot-checks on some provinces. They hope that the importance of this inspection will fully acknowledge the full preparations made for the inspections according to the Regulation on Inspection of the Expanded National Planned Immunization Service and a report on the self-inspection results to be submitted to Ministry of Health in a timely manner.
The purpose of this inspection is said to know about the implementation of the Circular on Implementing Enlarged National Planned Immunization Service, learn about the progress made in the implementation of the regulation, make conclusions, identify and solve problems and further promote the national immunization work.
No less than 50% of all cities and 30% of all counties as well as no less than 50% of all districts and sub-municipal counties will be involved in the self-inspection.
