Budget hotel group Jinjiang Inn says it will join the Earth Hour program initiated by the World Wildlife Fund.
On March 28, 2009, all the 240 plus outlets of Jinjiang Inn will turn off their external lights. In addition, the hotel will send off information cards free of charge to its customers via its official website, calling on these customers to do their bit to protect the earth.
According to a representative from Jinjiang Inn, the hotel will also launch a themed event to increase their environmental awareness by not using the disposable amenities and it will offer the hotel's customers a reward for doing this.
It is understood that this will be the first time that Earth Hour is held in China and Jinjiang Inn is the first budget hotel in China to volunteer to participate in the program.

Thanks for promoting Earth Hour! Another way you can recruit people to the cause is by creating a Earth Hour group on Commit21.com. Simply create a group about one action that you will commit to do for Earth Hour and recruit your friends, family, and co-workers to get involved in that action as well. When it comes to climate change, simple actions can make huge differences and Commit21 leverages social media to influence networks of friends, family, and co-workers.
The new Vote Earth 2009 global website has launched. There is an element on the site that incorporates Google’s Friend Connect and we want to get 1 billion people on the site by November before Copenhagen. A big ask, so we need some help.
To get involved, all you need to do is:
1. Go to the site – voteearth2009.org
2. Register with Friend Connect
3. Send to a friend and get more people to sign up.
We need to get as many people as we can involved. So please encourage your friends to get involved.
Get involved and VOTE EARTH!
