The InterContinental Hotel Group increased its commitment to Project Hope under the China Youth Development Foundation in earthquake-stricken Sichuan Province by donating CNY500,000 and musical instruments for two Happy Music classrooms. The money was collected by IHG's hotels in southern China to re-build a primary school in Guangyuan that sustained serious damage during the earthquake in May 2008.
