The Beijing Municipal Travel Agency Service Quality Supervision and Management Department has published the "Beijing Travel Agency Service Quality Information Bulletin for Quarter 3 2009", showing that the department received 14 complaints about nine travel agencies from July to September 2009.
The nine agencies were: Beijing Huayun Pengcheng Travel Agency, Beijng Jinlong Travel Agency, Beijing Baoxiang Travel Agency, Beijing Capital Travel Agency, Beijing Mingdu Tengda Travel Agency, Beijing Juyuan Wenhua Travel Agency, Beijing Anjian Travel Agency, Beijing Jinxiang Holiday Travel Agency, and Beijing Yanmin Guodu Travel Service.
All the complaints concerned domestic travel quality involving Beijing, Hebei, and Shanxi. The problems tourists have reported mainly focus on travel agencies changing routes, lowering accommodation, and transportation service standards unilaterally, tour guides cutting down the number of scenic spots visited, shortened visit times, and increasing shopping frequency.
The bulletin also shows that complaints have been reduced by 7% compared with the second quarter of the year, and by 33% compared with the same period in 2008.
