The China National Coal Group has released its first corporate social responsibility report.
The ChinaCoal CSR Report 2008 mainly elaborates on the social responsibility initiatives of the group in the year 2008, covering economic responsibility, security responsibility, innovation responsibility, environmental responsibility, and social responsibility.
As a state-owned enterprise, ChinaCoal reports that it has done well in disaster relief work in 2008, and has guaranteed the coal supply to ease the fear of shortages. Also, its total emissions and energy consumption per CNY10,000 of China's gross domestic product have been markedly reduced as a result of its energy savings and emission reduction in an effort to be an environmentally-friendly enterprise.
