China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine has published a report which states that five rice powder products for babies fail to meet the relevant standards.
The five are the Carrot & Fruit and Vegetable Rice Powder products made by Hunan Nanshan Food Company, Fish Bone Nutrition Rice Powder (II Stage) products made by Shanghai Eastwes, Huaishan Multi-Vitamin Nutrition Rice Powder for Baby made by Jiangxi Runbo Healthcare Products Company, Jinyoubei Prebiotics Nutrition Rice Powder made by Jiangxi Xinlong Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Company, and Carotene Nutrition Rice Powder for Baby by Jiangxi Lvxin Bio-products Company.
It is learned that all these rice powder products have substandard vitamin content, but Huaishan Multi-Vitamin Nutrition Rice Powder for Baby has the most problems of all. In addition to problems with vitamin A and vitamin D content, the product is also below standard with regard to phosphorous and calcium.
