The environmental departments of 11 Chinese provinces have jointly signed a framework agreement on cooperation to protect the environment.
The 11 provinces are Sichuan, Ningxia, Xinjiang, Qinghai, Shaanxi, Gansu, Shanxi, Henan, Hubei, Chongqing, and Inner Mongolia.
According to the agreement, the parties will work together to set up a trans-provincial and trans-basin environment pollution control mechanism, under which they will notify each other about their own environmental functions and standards, share environmental information and coordinate with each other in dealing with environmental emergencies.
In addition, the parties will set up a platform to mutually release information to prevent panic after the occurrence of environmental accidents.
