Low-carbon Hotel Community Begins Operation In Qiandaohu

Lvcheng Qiandaohu Resort and Hotel Community, a low-carbon hotel community covering a total area of 138,000 square meters, has gone live in Qiandaohu, Zhejiang province.
According to Zhou Xinfa, the general manager of Qiandaohu Lvcheng Resort and Hotel, the hotel is using water loop sourced heat pump technology and this can save costs by 20%-30% compared with conventional air-conditioners. In addition, this eliminates carbon emissions while reducing the transportation footprint.
Qiandaohu Lvcheng Resort and Hotel apparently features a waterfall which is not only a design feature but also saves costs by CNY400 per hour for compared with an ordinary waterfall. And there are more than 20 water features similar to this in the surrounding community.
It is estimated that in addition to power savings, the use of water loop source heat pump technology here can also save more than three million cubic meters of natural gas as well as reducing emissions by more than 6,500 tons of carbon dioxide each year.
Qiandaohu has a water storage capacity of 17.8 billion cubic meters and it has a hugh potential for renewable energy.
