China's Sinosteel Releases Its First Sustainability Report

Sinosteel has released a sustainable development report concurrently in Beijing and in Perth, Australia.
The report, which is titled "Sinosteel Group Sustainable Development Australia Report", details the company's sustainable development, stakeholder participation, economic development, environment protection, health and safety, employees, community, and future prospects. It states that the Sinosteel attaches equal importance to both economic benefits and social development in expanding its business in Australia.
Chen Ying, a director of the UN Global Compact Council, told local media that the report reflects the localization concept of Sinosteel and its multi-cultural approach in a global operation.
Sinosteel is a central enterprise under the management of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. It is a large transnational company specializing in metal resources development and processing, metallurgy materials, metal products trading and logistics, engineering technology, and equipment manufacturing.
