On the eve of the 2010 National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Gansu province signed a strategic framework agreement with China Huadian Corporation on energy cooperation.
According to the agreement, each party will bring their own advantages into full play and cooperate on energy development and speed up the construction of an energy base in the Hexi area of Gansu by making full use of the rich new energy and renewable energy resources in the region.
CHC will increase the investment in the energy sector of Gansu, participate in the development of the region's new energy projects, and try to complete the 10-megawatt photovoltaic generating electricity facility in Jiayuguan in 2010. Meanwhile, it will select locations in Gansu for several large size coal power projects and start the feasibility studies for building a distribution gas project there.
In addition, the parties will strengthen cooperation on photovoltaic power generation equipment development, equipment manufacturing, and training.
