SITE China Chapter Annual Meeting successfully held in Beijing

The SITE China Chapter Annual Meeting was held on February 23, 2010 in Beijing Capital Museum. The meeting was sponsored by Beijing Tourism Administration and 12 enterprises in China.

Beijing, China (March 12, 2010) /ChinaNewswire.com/ — In 2009, the meeting and incentive business was strongly affected by the world economy crisis, which also made great changes in the international meeting and incentive industry. In order to analyse the new trend of the meeting and incentive industry and work even more closely with Beijing local government and all the professionals in the industry, the SITE China Chapter annual meeting offered a great communication opportunity between China National Tourism Administration, Beijing Tourism Administration and the international and national professional associations as well as professionals from all parts of China.

The SITE China Chapter annual meeting received a welcome letter from Mr. Gu Xiao Yuan, deputy director of Beijing Tourism Administration. Ms Wang Yan, director of tourism promotion and communication division delivered a welcome speech on the meeting. Mr. Li Xue Min, General Secretary of SITE China Chapter, deputy director of Meeting and Incentive promotion department made a report on the annual work of SITE China Chapter.

SITE China Chapter had invited the international speakers for the general meeting. They were Mr. Sean Mahoney, SITE Global president 2010, Vice President of Cooperate Incentive Program and his topic was "Incentive Travel Industry and its trend". Ms. Mary Jeanne Chapman, Chairman of SITE chapter Leadership Committee and her topic was "SITE Crystal Award and my 25 years with SITE". Ms. Margaret McDonald, general manager of Smart People Communication and her topic was "The Art of Smarter E-mails".

At the end of the general session, on behalf of Beijing Tourism Administration, Ms. Li Xue Min announced the launch of MPI professional certificate training in Beijing. Mr Michael Tay introduced the cooperation with BTA on the MPI training programs. A speech was made by Ms. Wang Xiaoyan, director of Emerging Market, General Procurement, Global Procurement Depart, Lenovo Group on "What the direct buyer expects from meeting and incentive program design and its evaluation".

Two topics were focused on during the panel discussion in the afternoon, they are:
1) Quality Control & Value added Service for Meeting and Incentive
2) New Technology and Creativity on Theme dinner and event design

The panelists were representatives from DMC, Hotel, PCO, Creative Design Company, PR Company, travel agency and Airlines. Each panel speaker provided a case study with their unique presentation. It created a communication and interaction. The SITE China Chapter annual meeting initiated the passion of the delegates in welcoming a successful year in 2010.

The annual meeting also delivered a concept of green meeting and eco-friendly event. SITE China Chapter choose Beijing Capital Hotel as the meeting place, due to the easy access to the subway and public transportation. The backdrop of the meeting was made with a reuseable screen with computerized design projected instead of the commonly using the wooden board and PVC paintings, which cannot be reused. Bottled water wass provided on the table, but there were no glasses for the delegates, in order to avoid pollutingwater and use less water. All the pencils provided were made of newspaper. SITE China Chapter annual meeting set a good example for green meetings in China.
