Chinese Websites Form Online Rights Protection Alliance

Over ten online media in China, including northeast.com.cn, cnwest.com, and scol.com.cn, have jointly formed an alliance for the protection of online rights.

It is learned that members of the alliance will launch a special "3-15" section to display consumers' complaints. Besides, they will enable consumers to publish their complaints through their website, which will be shown on the "3-15" column once it is verified by the administrator of each website. The term "3-15" refers to March 15, World Consumer Rights Day.

Lu Yunqiang, an editor from northeast.com.cn, said that the alliance aims to be an ever lasting online consumer rights protection platform where consumers can make complaints and have their rights protected all the year round. Lu stated that the alliance also hopes to help consumers increase the influence of their rights protection activities and solve problems in a timely and effective manner.

      Hi,
I am writing to acknowledge that this trend would be of tremendous benefit to online shoppers like me. On the average, I spend over £1,000 shopping online via ebay, amazon etc from china dealers but recently, many of the traders did not deliver the advertised item as promised and also refused to refund my money after i have returned these items. Some sellers intentionally avoid my email. I would be glad if I can get a contact to deal with these false businessmen online or if i can get a access to a consumer protection agency in china.

      Thank you.
