China Travel Service (Hong Kong) Limited, China International Travel Service Group, China Travel Service Group and China Overseas Chinese Town Group, have together promised to increase tourist satisfaction this year.

The four companies made the promise at a press conference held by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of China's State Council.

CTS promises that their tour guides won't change the routes or travel items, nor will they add any items during the journey or allow any extra people or non registered tourists take their tour buses.

HKCTS promises to strengthen self-discipline among all its affiliated travel agencies and scenic spots, accept supervision of the customers and the government and work "to be a disseminator and embracer of modern civilization and advanced travel culture". It also promises to efficiently handle tourist complaints.

CITS says that it will make sure its service hotline works smoothly throughout the day, pay more attention to traffic safety and food sanitation, and collect opinions from tourists to solve their complaints.

China OCT Promises that it will create a reasonable price to protect tourists' rights and interest while keeping a close watch over their demands.

Chinese travel consumers have long complained that some travel agencies change travel routes or bring them to expensive shops where tour guides receive kickbacks. These pledges by the four companies are made in the hope of restoring consumer confidence in China's travel sector.
