Hebei: Drug Retailers Shall Not Sell Chinese Abortion Medicines

The People's Government of Hebei Province has announced its Government Decree No.1, which states that abortion drugs should be banned for sale in retail outlets in the province.

Drug retailers shall not sell termination of pregnancy drugs; pharmaceutical production enterprises and wholesale enterprises shall not sell termination of pregnancy drugs to unauthorized units or individuals; and pharmaceutical production enterprises and wholesale enterprises should examine qualification proofs of purchasers before selling drugs to them and should keep true and complete purchase and sale records.

For the aspect of use of termination of pregnancy drugs, the local Chinese government says that only authorized organizations have the right to use the drugs and the drugs should be used under directions of doctors. In addition, the authorized organizations should also establish true and complete purchase and use records for these drugs.
