Audi Recalls 642 Imported Cars From China

According to Audi China's sales department, Audi China will recall 642 imported Audi A6 cars, starting May 30.

The cars were reportedly sold in China between January 2002 and December 2005. They include 335 imported Audi A6 Quattro cars and 307 imported Audi A6 Allroad cars.

The reason for the recall is that a gasoline leak may be caused by the cracks at the mouth of the ventilation valve as a result of aging.

Though Audi has not received any reports of accidents caused by this problem, the company has submitted a recall report to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China. Audi says the company's Audi A6 4.2-liter Quattro and A6 4.2-liter Allroad do not have these problems, so the two types of cars won't be recalled.
