United Technologies Corporation's Otis Elevator has received the "Caring Company" Award from the Hong Kong Council of Social Service in recognition of the company's contribution to society.Stephane de Montlivault, Managing Director of Otis Hong Kong, said, "We are honored to have received this award, which serves as an encouragement to our volunteer efforts. We take pride in being able to give back to our community. We are fortunate to have a highly motivated employee base that actively involved in a series of community program. This is a 100% volunteer effort in terms of time spent and money donated."
Otis has formed a strategic partnership with the Hong Kong Christian Service (HKCS) to embark on the "Elderly Caring Ambassador" campaign, which aims to help single elderly people in Shum Shui Pao.
In addition, Otis actively motivated employees to participate in a wide range of community program, such as the Community Chest Dress Causal Day and support initiatives like employing physically and mentally challenged people for projects.
Established by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service in 2002, the "Caring Company Scheme" aims to build a caring community spirit by cultivating corporate citizenship, corporate social responsibility, and strategic partnership among businesses and social service sectors.
As a "Caring Company", Otis met five out of six criteria set by HKCSS, including volunteering, developing family-friendly program, employing vulnerable people, partnering and giving.
