After a two-day discussion on the current situation of drug abuse and illicit trafficking in China, city representatives from Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Kunming and Wuhan have reached an agreement for a coordinated mechanism against illegal drugs.
Deng Zeshun, the director of Wuhan's Drug Enforcement Office, says that as important information and transportation centers in China, these six cities have played special roles in the drug enforcement work in China.
According to the cooperation agreement they reached, they will set up an information liaison system to collect the latest information about drug dealers and report this to each member city.
They will also strengthen cooperation on railways, highway and air to combat trans-regional drug trafficking groups.
In addition, they will put forward a proposal to other Chinse cities, calling on them to join the agreement.
