The Wuhan Municipal Homeless Teenager Relief Station has been formally set up to offer a warm home and education for children with no place else to go.
Since teenagers may be easily affected by some bad behavior of adults when they shelter with them, the Wuhan municipal government says it decided to open a special center devoted to teenagers to protect them.
Located inside the Wuhan Salvation Management Station, the center can accommodate 50 children and it will be extended to hold 300 children by 2008. Besides room and board, the center also offers study rooms, electronic classrooms and activity rooms. Schooling, skills training, and psychological counseling services are also provided.
