The National Bureau of Statistics of China says the consumer price index in July rose by 5.6 percent over the same period of the previous year and 0.9 percent from June.<\/p>\n
Of that figure, urban area and rural area was up by 5.3 percent and 6.3 percent, respectively. The price of foodstuff, non-foodstuff, consumables and services expanded 15.4, 0.9, 6.9 and 1.6 percent, respectively.<\/p>\n
The price of tobacco, liquor and articles jumped by 1.8 percent over the same period of the previous year. Of that figure, the price of tobacco and liquor rose 0.9 and 3.6 percent, respectively. The price of clothing was down by 0.6 percent year-on-year and the price of garments dropped 0.6 percent.<\/p>\n
The price of household facilities, articles, and maintenance services rose by 1.7 percent year-on-year. The price of health care and personal articles increased 2.2 percent year-on-year. Of that figure, the price of Western medicines decreased 0.9 percent and traditional Chinese medicinal materials and medicines was up by an amazing 10 percent. Health care services shot up by 2.3 percent.<\/p>\n
The price of transportation and communication dropped 1.3 percent. Of that, the price of transportation facility dropped 2.3 percent; fuels and spares decreased 1.4 percent; urban traffic fare increased 0.7 percent.<\/p>\n
