Due to frequent occurrences of pollution problems, three international companies have been exposed by the State Environment Protection Administration for consistent problems.<\/p>\n
The three companies are Omnova Decoration Material (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.; Shanghai COSCO Kawasaki Heavy Industries Steel Structure Co., Ltd.; and Jinmailang (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. Tao Detian, a spokesperson from SEPA, said at a press conference that through scrutiny of 130 international companies that had been initially included on an environment blacklist, the environmental department found that most of the companies had corrected their behaviors. But the three still ignored China's environmental laws and were involved in frequent environmental infringement.<\/p>\n
Tao said that it was a lack of corporate social responsibility that led to the frequent occurrence of environmental infringement among companies, even those that had enjoyed a good reputation for environmental protection previously.<\/p>\n
Ma Jun, a principal from the Public and Environment Research Center, confirmed that the number of international companies that had been criticized by the environmental department for pollution had increased to up to 300 from 80-90 one year ago.
