Wei Chuanzhong, deputy director of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China, said on February 13 at a press conference that the Chinese dumpling poisoning accident that occurred in Japan had no affiliation with China's Olympics food safety, and the Chinese government and Beijing Olympics Organizing Committee had set up a complete and efficient Olympic food safety control system to ensure food safety.<\/p>\n

Wei said that the dumpling poisoning accident in Japan was a single case and it was not a food safety accident caused by pesticide residue. He suggested that China and Japan establish a joint team to investigate the accident as soon as possible. Wei said that it was not good for Japanese news media to report that the dumpling accident was arranged by people who were dissatisfied the dumpling factory's treatment. He said that consumers should turn to both the Japanese and Chinese government for the official investigation result instead of listening to other media reports.<\/p>\n

China has tested the samples of the 13g package pork-cabbage stuffed dumpling and 14g pork-cabbage stuffed dumpling which were reported to have caused food poisoning in Japan.
