A representative from Beijing Municipal Health Department says that spring is the peak time for the occurrence of various respiratory diseases, so to call for a sanitary lifestyle and remove bad habits of spitting from its citizens, the city will set a No Spit Day sometime in the next year. The detailed date for the No Spit Day is still under discussion.<\/p>\n
Beijing has been trying to improve its environment in recent years, particularly after its winning of the bidding of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. In January, the city published a rule on banning smoking in public places and began to solicit public opinions for it.
