China's National Audit Office released the first \"Wenchuan Earthquake Relief Supplies Auditing Result Bulletin\" in which it exposed illegal situations arising from donations made to the recent disaster in Sichuan.<\/p>\n
According to CNAO, on May 15, Federation of Anyang Industry & Commerce and Anyang Red Cross received CNY600,000 relief funds from three enterprises in Henan Province. Then the principal of the fund spent CNY271,100 on purchasing clothing, meat, water, instant noodles and quilts and provided fake invoices. Now concerned departments are investigating the related people in this incident.<\/p>\n
On May 28, Mianyang Fucheng Industrial & Commercial Bank of China bought 56 pairs of Nike shoes — worth a total of about CNY28,500 — for its staff, while the commodity name on the invoice was given as \"raincoats, boots and umbrellas\". Later the bank was asked to return the money.<\/p>\n
In addition, CNAO has collected all the SMS messages that requested people to remit money to certain accounts which were believed to be illegal ones. Auditing departments have already turned these SMS over to public security departments to have these accounts frozen.<\/p>\n
The central earthquake relief fund and material supervision and inspection group has announced that every illegal affair should be exposed and punished quickly, seriously and severely.
