Eight Chinese ministries and commissions, including Ministry of Environmental Protection, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Supervision, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, State Administration For Industry & Commerce, State Administration of Work Safety and State Electricity Regulatory Commission, will together launch a special environmental action this July.<\/p>\n
Altogether 113 key cities are involved in this special action whose main focus will be placed on the pollution of drinking water sources. Post-supervision work will be carried out to ensure key indicators of drinking water sources quality to meet the standard.<\/p>\n
Papermaking enterprises that can not steadily discharge waste water up to standards will be closed. Sewage treatment plants in towns whose operational capacity is lower than 60% of designed capacity will be forced to rectify in a given period.
