The Paper Industry Sustainable Development Forum has been held in Hainan.<\/p>\n
Experts from China National Forestry Industry Association and other organizations attended the forum and discussed the sustainable development within the industry.<\/p>\n
According to the latest full statistics from 2006, waste water discharged by the entire industrial sector was 20.8 million tons, with the paper industry accounting for 17.98%; And the 20 million tons of wood used in the paper industry each year are equivalent to 200 million trees.<\/p>\n
Xu Daping, an expert from Research Institute of Tropical Forestry, Chinese Academy of Forestry, says that integration of wood, paper pulp and paper is a better choice for modern paper making industry and forestry. Other experts at the forum agreed that the entire sector must focus on better ways to proceed in the future.<\/p>\n
