Nineteen Wal-Mart China branches have signed collective contracts with Wal-mart China trade unions since the Wal-Mart Shenyang outlet signed the first contract on July 14, 2008.<\/p>\n
According to local media, the collective contracts that the 16 trade unions in Shenzhen have signed with Wal-Mart include labor contracts, remuneration for labor, working hours, insurance, welfare benefits, and training for employees. According to the contracts, trade unions will negotiate with the company about increased wages in December each year, the minimum wage should be higher than the minimum wage standard announced by Shenzhen municipal government, and employees with seniority of more than three years can sign open-ended employment contracts with the company. <\/p>\n
It is reported that Wal-Mart China has reached an agreement with deputies from the trade unions. It will hand over the Wal-mart collective contract text which is a joint effort of the All China Federation of Trade Unions and Wal-Mart headquarters to all its branches in China. <\/p>\n
