Standard Chartered Bank (China) Limited has signed a post-disaster reconstruction agreement with the Mianzhu government in Chengdu.<\/p>\n

The bank will contribute CNY10 million to the social welfare institutions of Mianzhu, which plan establish 200 beds for the elderly and the children who lost their families in the May 12 earthquake. The construction work is expected to commence next month, and to be completed in mid 2009. <\/p>\n

Katherine Tsang, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank China, said that the bank has been contributing to local countries and regions, hoping the social welfare institutions would be able to house homeless senior citizens and children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
