On September 20, there was a accident in the Shanxi Hebaoganhe Coal Mine that led to a miner's death. To cover up the accident, the coal mine reportedly gave hush money to a group of real or bogus journalists. However, although the coal mine kept a list of media that had accepted the money, some media organs, including Green China, have emphatically denied this. Some of the media organizations say that they were framed by the coal mine.<\/p>\n
GAPP has publicized the punishment meted out to media organizations and journalists for taking hush money. As part of the punishment, Green China was ordered to suspend its business for three months, pay a CNY30,000 fine and return the CNY10,000 received by its staff from the coal mine for its staff.<\/p>\n
Green China has refused to accept this final punishment. As a result, GAPP had to hold a public hearing on this case on December 2.<\/p>\n
