France-based Merieux Group and the Public Health and Medical Center of Nanjing University have signed a cooperation agreement for HIV\/AIDS research.<\/p>\n

According to the agreement, which is reported to be the first formal international cooperation agreement ever signed by Metrieux, Metrieux will fund PHMC in establishing an HIV\/AIDS Research and Innovation Foundation to carry out applied research projects.<\/p>\n

It is reported that Metrieux will invest EUR60,000 in the first instance and the two sides will cooperate closely once the relevant projects are underway. The research will focus on the study and development of HIV\/AIDS diagnosis reagent.<\/p>\n

Metrieux a major French bio-technology company entered China in 1985. To date, it has set up offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Hong Kong, and Taipei and established collaborative relations with the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Fudan University's Tumor Hospital.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
